What is AI visibility?

AI visibility is whether your brand shows up when a buyer asks an AI assistant — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini — a question your customers actually ask. Unlike Google search, those answers don't have ten blue links: there's a single recommendation, often picking one or two brands. Tracemetry sends each of your tracked prompts to each AI surface every week, parses the answer for whether your brand appears, and aggregates the result into a presence score. The lower the score, the more your category is being recommended without you.
